Technical Specs

At Edwardes Bros we offer seven strand catenary wire. These seven galvanised steel strands offer maximum strength for there size. Our ranges of wires have the capability to support upto 155KG- 620KG depending on the wire that you use.

Also in our catenary wire accessories section we offer secure wall plates for connecting catenary wire. It is key that these are sturdy and secure when installed, as if they aren't they could fall from not being able to support the weight on the catenary wire, causing a health and safety issue. Catenary wire is easy to install with its easy to use installation accessories and lightweight malleable wire. This helps for a fast install when working at heights to install support wire.

Fitting Guide

  1. Firstly once you have decided where you would like your wall plates to run from, secure it to the wall with the center stable running horizontal.
  2. With the hook and eye catenary wire strainer open it ¾ of the way, and put it through the wall plate staple already on the wall.
  3. Mark your wire to show where the rope grips will be fitted using a ruler. It is recommended that these go 6 cable diameters apart minimum. mark this using a marker pen.
  4. Open a thimble eyelet using pliers and close it back around the wall plate try not to deform the thimble eyelet.
  5. Wrap the cable around the thimble eyelet and attach the rope grips in your marked places. Then fasten the wire rope grips starting with the furthest one away from the wall plate.
  6. Then go back to your wall plate with the tensioner attached And repeat this process into the eye of the tensioner. Ensure to leave a small amount of excess and cut the rest for further use. Then the system is complete.
