Twin and Earth is a name for a type of Mains Electricity Cable, and is the most common cable for domestic wiring today. Comprising of 1 Live (Brown) and 1 Neutral (Blue) sheathed conductor, and a Earth which is of the CPC type (Circuit Protective Conductor) which is bare. The Overall sheath is of PVC Construction to BS6004.
The 2.5mm Conductors are Solid with the CPC earth being 1.5mm, and rated in normal conditions at around 24 Amps although when wired as a ring configuration the capacity rises to above 32 Amp, this particular size is common with very Ring Main circuits. Also available in cut lengths, 25m and 100m Coils.
Not suitable for unprotected use outside as the outer sheath are vunerable to attack from UV, however Alkyd paint is enough to protect it from UV.
